The first 4 NFS games were the shit, perfect blend between sim handling and silly arcade gameplay. I wish they had a game like this one on the 3ds, I'd play the shit out of it.

I know i've played that one, but i can't remember which one it was. Maybe the first PS2 one i wanna say?

The problem isn't just that there's so many of them, it's that they reuse not just the name, but the subname too. I'm pretty sure there have been more than one "Need for speed: High Stakes" and definitely more than one "need for speed: hot pursuit"

But yeah. Good times.

Didn't like it that much with the PS1 version but I played the pc version some years later and it is completely awesome, one of the best car selections in any game ever.

Hot Pursuit 2 is still my favorite racing game. It's part of the reason I'm into cars.

I'm with you there, the camera shaking was great!!! It's the only game where I truly enjoyed replays. It felt amateurish. My god...tell me they still mod it and that I can play it with a G25 with full 900 degrees!

Oh yes I have played that for many-a-hour. My favorite was NFS Hot Pursuit though. I for reals still have it and may have to have a way-back game night lol.

Awesome game.
I started my MODing days with High Stakes. I did almost everything from liveries to Bodykits (I recreated most of the cars from the first FnF movie), I was only starting to create a model from scratch when my PC shat the bed and I lost everything making me lose interest.

But I'll install it again this weekend to take it for a spin again if I manage to make it work on Win 7
